About the Role
Prepare building performance simulations to integrate energy performance with the building design process. Including new construction, retrofits, energy, and carbon audits of existing buildings, and decarbonization plans.
Participate in design meetings and assist the design team with achieving energy efficiency targets such as LEED certification, Zero Carbon and Passive House.
Prepare reports and documentation for submission to Certification Agencies and Authorities Having Jurisdiction
Conduct energy assessments for existing facilities including walkthrough audits, regression analysis and calibrated energy models
Work with our Mechanical Design Team to improve the integration of energy simulation with BIM
Assist with the development of Parametric Analysis studies
Provide technical analysis and support during the construction phase
Requirements
Bachelor of Engineering Degree is required
Minimum 4 years of experience in building energy consulting and energy modelling is required
Previous experience in energy audits is an asset
LEED GA or LEED AP designation is an asset
Knowledge of energy efficient building design, energy simulation software, energy management and incentive programs, HVAC and lighting systems as well as an understanding of building envelope.
Knowledge of energy codes and best practices, understanding of green building standards and sustainability certifications
Strong analytical and modelling skills
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
